Welcome to ardenpackeer.com – a blog to help you become a Cisco network ninja.
My name is Arden Packeer and I am a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE #20716), Cisco Certified Systems Instructor (CCSI #31090) and network consultant in Melbourne, Australia. With more than 8 years of experience in networking and network management systems I’ve helped clients such as Ericsson Australia, ANZ, and the Australian Department of Defence to learn about, design, install, and troubleshooting large enterprise class WAN and LAN environments.
I am currently certified as a CCIE (R&S), CCSI, CCNP, CCDP, CCIP, CCDA, and CCNA by Cisco, and busily pursuing my next CCIE (Voice). Along with being Cisco certified, I am also certified in Linux (RHCE, Novell CLE, Novell Linux Technical Specialist, Linux+) and hold a Checkpoint CCSA.
For a full list of my certifications and experience you can view my profile on LinkedIn.
After completing my Computer Science degree, I worked as a systems integrator and network engineer for Ericsson Australia, rolling out network management systems (NMS) and Operational Support Systems (OSS) for telecommunications operators and service provider networks in the Asia Pacific region including StarHUB Singapore, IndoSat Indonesia and Digi Telecom Malaysia.
In my role as a Cisco Instructor, I’ve focused on translating my hands on technical experience into delivering quality Cisco courses covering Routing Protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, BGP), Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS), IP Quality of Service, Security and VoIP.
These days, when I’m not busy teaching or solving interesting networking problems studying for my next CCIE, you will find me hanging out with my lovely wife, Carlie, or reading about, watching, and playing as much Cricket as my busy schedule allows.
The goal of this site is to help others learn networking skills. I started it in July 2007 as a study aid in preparing for my R&S CCIE. My hope is that my study notes and articles will help others learn about networking, and encourage others to share their own networking experiences.
