Doing the harder mock labs I think they have helped me step my game up. It has helped push me that extra bit. Like you, I also use them to find my weaknesses, and that is why I think the harder ones are almost mandatory. They really get you to look up the DocCD. You WILL be faced with stuff you haven't seen before in these mock labs (just like the real lab). The trick is not to panic, and just work your way through that. The harder mock labs put you in that same stressful situation that the lab will probably do. That alone is enough to recommend them! @nortic: I would definitely say its an eye opener.
