Hahaha.."CCNA from Cisco". They could have been a little less obvious. Their marketing campaign definitely needs brushing up.

Arden,

After spending the week here in orlando (im at the airport now) it has become very apparent that cisco is pushing the new learning portal. Chambers keynote was ALL about collaboration and blogs and wikis, something I have no problem admitting that I am very new to. I know you guys have been doing this for a very long time and its interesting that Cisco is just catching on. From the demo's if their wiki to the constant barrage of people directing us to the new learning portal (i have 18 mouse pads with the URL on it now) it is apparent that cisco sees the importance of what you and Ivan, and ethan, and josh, and others have done for some time now. of course, they want all the traffic going their way. if you look at the posts on their site now they all come from internal people. I do hope it builds not only in quality but in the amount of information contained in the different areas but i also hope it doesnt distract people from where the real content is; here, ethans site, josh's site and so on. Thats where people are going to find the real story about getting certified, the struggles, the outsider opinions and so on. At any rate, thats my take at the moment. I am a Cisco man. They do pay my bills, though not directly, and i will continue to progress in my certification status and knowledge level. Keep pointing out these things. Its a benefit to all of us! your thoughts are appreciated!

BTW, when I talked to Scott Morris at the Cisco Press Author Event he NEVER mentioned going to Internetwork Expert. MAN HE CAN KEEP A SECRET! What a great addition to Internetwork Expert.

LOL! I love the "I recently got my CCNA from this company called Cisco" bit. Cisco you say? Never heard of them. I got my CCNA from Nortel. :-)

It's a shame that they're spamming as I think that the site has a great future as it seems to be merging bits of the CCNA/NP study sites along with bits of NetPro. I've seen a post from Kevin Dorrell on the new site so I at least one of the entries is legit.

Cisco did buy a Web2.0 company and have been flogging it as a platform, I wonder if it was Jive SOftware who are hosting the portal.

Wonder if Jive are pumping their platform. Not nice if they are.
