I think all this study has finally driven me over the edge. :)

I’m feeling a bit more confident about the lab. I have been working steadily through the IE workbook and things are falling into place nicely. I still need to work on my speed and accuracy but i can do the Core (Switching, Routing, BGP) sections of most of the labs within 2-3 hours. This is a big improvement for me.

After reading Ethan Banks awesome write up of Narbik Kocharians’s bootcamp (Ethan you should get a commission on all those extra sales!), I am trying to convice work to pay for me to attend. I emailed Micronics Training and I got an email back from Narbik himself within a few minutes (hows that for customer service?! awesome!). Unfortunately, the next course in Sydney has been moved to the week of May 19th which is a week after my Lab! Narbik offered me a great package deal if I wanted to do the bootcamp in Dubai that had flights and accomodation already sorted. If work doesn’t pay I’m probably just going to pay for it myself. The one in Dubai is exactly 2 weeks before my lab so I am hoping that the stuff I learn in Narbik’s course will put me over the edge.

Days left for lab: 69! (Starting to feel a bit jumpy about that number)
Lab Hours in the last week: 27

  1. Glad you found my posts about Narbik’s bootcamp helpful. I hope you get to sit in on one of his bootcamps. It’s a worthwhile experience. I’m going back for a retake week in March.

  2. I really hope i get to sit on it. I’ve put a business case forward and its out of my hands now. 2 months to go….so many labs to go through, cisco.com/univercd stubs to read…so little time! :)

  3. So what has been finaly decided about the bootcamp?
Are you coming to Dubai ?

If so, I’ll be there too, though unlike you I’ll be half prepared.
Narbik advised me to attend the bootcamp in April, as later dates are not confirmed and also it’d give me time to finish his work book as well 8 labs left (if I go according to schedule) of IEWB.

  4. Hey Barooq,

At this stage I will not be heading to Dubai (couldn’t get approval from work). It’s a shame as I was really looking forward to it. If I don’t pass in May I’m definitely going (I don’t car how much it costs me!). Hope you enjoy the bootcamp. Let me know how it goes.
