My Top 6 Cisco Blogs of 2007

I was working on putting up a resources section and a blogroll on ardenpackeer.com today. I have a pretty big list of Cisco blogs that I subscribe to and check regularly. I will eventually put up all these links into a seperate section on the site, but in the mean time the sites below are definitely my favourite and well worth checking out:

1. CCIE Pursuit

http://cciepursuit.wordpress.com/

My favourite CCIE preparation Blog. I’d definitely recommend you check out his lab strategy post. After I read it, I adopted it as my CCIE Lab strategy and haven’t looked back. Fantastic, insightful posts. I have this on my Google Reader feeds and EVERY article so far has been helpful. He currently working through the Internetwork Expert Labs (which is the same workbooks I am working through) and blogs about each lab. Can’t recommend this one enough.

2. CCIE Candidate

http://www.ethanbanks.net

Ethan is currently working through the NMC workbooks and thoroughly blogs about his trial and tribulations with each lab. Good to get a different perspective with some of the other lab material. Great posts, really helpful. Highly Recommended.

3. Cisco IOS hints and tricks

http://ioshints.blogspot.com

Ivan is CCIE#1354 and and was one of the first Cisco instructors. I have been following his blog for quite a while and really admire what he has achieved in his career. Someone I definitely aspire to be like! His posts are detailed, technical, and a great help.

4. Jeff Doyles Blog

http://www.networkworld.com/community/doyle

His Routing TCP/IP Volume 1 and 2 are THE bibles of CCIE preparation. I read both cover to cover and they were instrumental in helping me pass the written exam. His blog is great. One of my favourite posts is his “My Favourite Interview Question”. OSPF is a link state protocol in an area, distance vector between areas. Gold!

5. A Networker Blog

http://vcappuccio.wordpress.com/

Great blog with lots of example IOS outputs to cipher through. Some real technical gems. I came across it as i was studying QOS, and immediately started labbing up some of his examples on dynamips. I eagerly look forward to reading each post!
