Cisco has announced three new concentrations to the CCNA program – CCNA Security, CCNA Wireless, and CCNA Voice. Candidates at the associate level (CCNA) are often expected to operate and maintain voice, security, and wireless equipment and this program is designed for such candidates. You must have a valid CCNA to achieve these concentrations. The concentrations allow a current CCNA to specialize and serves as a stepping stone to the Professional level certifications.
Cisco Press has announced products on all of the new CCNA tracks.
The CCNA Wireless track certainly makes sense now that they unofficially announced the CCIE Wireless, but it definitely leaves a gap between the Associate level and Expert level. I think its a pretty safe bet that there will be a CCWP (Cisco Certified Wireless Professional) or something similar in the works – great I’m starting rumours now! :)
My thoughts exactly with the Wireless Track. This CCNA Wireless still leaves plenty of room for a professional or expert level certification. I’m glad Cisco has finally realized that the Wireless material covered in the CCNA and CCNP is not adequate enough.
